On the occasion of marking one year since Dan Air began operating from Bacău Airport, Matt Ian David, CEO of Dan Air, accompanied by other company representatives, joined Radu Bezniuc, General Manager of the „George Enescu” International Airport in Bacău, for a press conference held at the airport.
From the outset, Matt Ian David highlighted some key performance indicators:
“We have improved last year’s performance, with our regular on-time flights reaching 96%. Statistically, we have delays under three hours in about 3% of cases and delays over three hours in just 1%. Compared to last year, we’ve improved on-time performance by 1%. The European average is around 96%, not exceeding 97%.”
The Dan Air CEO also emphasized the airline’s current operations, covering 13 destinations across seven countries, and praised the performance of the management team at „George Enescu” International Airport in Bacău.
Radu Bezniuc, General Manager of AIGE Bacău, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration with Dan Air and acknowledged the efforts made by the airline. He also highlighted the airport’s ongoing commitment to providing optimal conditions for airline operators and outlined its development strategy.
During the conference, technical details were presented, including the fact that Bacău Airport is equipped with high-standard technical systems. Among these, the most praised was a system enabling landings in dense fog and low-visibility conditions.
“This marks a very challenging year, especially for Dan Air. We’ve tried to make life easier for all those who took on the challenge of launching new destinations from Bacău Airport, but the biggest effort came from Dan Air. It’s important to note that, through the Re-Conect program, a minimum level of support was provided, alongside the airport’s own contributions, with a significant role played by the County Council,” added Radu Bezniuc.
After the presentations, a friendly Q&A session followed, covering topics such as flight delays, their impacts, and even the unique fact that Romanians are the only passengers who applaud upon landing.
At the end of the event, General Manager Radu Bezniuc presented Matt Ian David with an anniversary diploma to commemorate Dan Air’s first year of operations at „George Enescu” International Airport in Bacău.
