On November 17, the „Radu Beligan” Summer Theater in Bacău hosted an extraordinary musical event. The renowned folk singer Laura Olteanu headlined the concert, joined by esteemed artists such as Irina Loghin, Veta Biriș, Emilia Ghinescu, Adrian Ochișan, Marcela Fota, Fanfara lui Bulgaru, and the Moldovlask Orchestra. Among the performers was Bacău-born artist Cosmin Flenchea, who delighted the audience with a Balkan medley and showcased his talent on the flute and accordion.
Who is Cosmin Flenchea?
Cosmin Flenchea is an artist who, through talent, hard work, and perseverance, has achieved true professionalism. His life revolves around music, as he was seemingly born with it in his soul. Each step he has taken in life has been like a musical note, and he firmly believes that if he could start over, his path would remain the same—dedicated to the magic and harmony of sound.
Flenchea began performing at events for adults at just 12 years old, sensing from the start that this world was his calling. Today, more than 20 years since his first public performance, he excels in a variety of styles, ranging from folk and traditional music to pop, hip-hop, and jazz. A free spirit and self-taught musician, Flenchea refined his skills at the Bacău School of Arts under the guidance of professor Ștefania Dincă, graduating in 1995. By the age of 20, while many of his peers were still finding their way, he had already made his mark, collaborating with some of the most prominent names in Romanian music.

A Quote That Defines Him
“In this world, there are many profoundly beautiful things that I adore and infinitely more that I could fall in love with. Yet, my first great love will always be MUSIC. The only force that has complete power over me… The art that brings humanity together and elevates the intangible being within us… Light, Love, Wings, Flight… all are within It—MUSIC. If I could, I would become SONG itself, in that moment of reunion with life and with God.”
